Kate Harder
Kate is a solicitor specialising in civil litigation with an emphasis on commercial fraud litigation, insolvency and HM Revenue & Customs proceedings.
Kate joined BCL in 2010. Prior to this, she was involved in providing advice to insolvency practitioners, banks and corporate clients on a range of contentious and non-contentious issues connected with insolvency. Kate has also worked for HM Revenue & Customs and for the Inland Revenue Department in New Zealand.
Since joining BCL Kate has advised clients in relation to a variety of claims including negligence, misrepresentation and breach of contract. Kate has also been involved in high profile investigations and civil proceedings commenced against clients by HM Revenue & Customs.
Kate was admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in May 2003 and was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales in August 2008. Kate is also a Chartered Accountant and a member of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants.
