Linda Enstein
Linda was admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales in May 2010, having previously qualified as a solicitor in Germany in 2007.
She worked from 2007 until 2009 as a German lawyer for an international law firm in London and Shanghai on two high profile investigations by the US authorities into a European client's compliance with US laws and regulations concerning corruption and bribery. She gained valuable experience in the areas of business crime litigation, commercial and corporate fraud litigation, and regulatory investigations.
Since joining BCL, Linda has dealt with matters relating to corporate manslaughter, health & safety, fire safety and Coroners' Inquests. She also has gained experience in relation to requests for mutual legal assistance between Germany and the UK, authorisation with the FSA and multi-jurisdictional matters with respect to South America.
Linda studied law at Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität, Münster in Germany. She also was awarded an Erasmus scholarship and studied International Law, Comparative Constitutional Law and Comparative Civil Law at the University of Perugia in Italy. As a trainee solicitor, Linda worked in Paraguay, where she advised in both criminal and civil matters, supported German nationals who where subject to compulsory land acquisitions and advised foreign companies on employment, immigration, intellectual property, tax and the South American Free Trade Zone. As a trainee solicitor at the German Embassy in Caracas, Venezuela, Linda advised German expatriates on treaties between Germany and Venezuela in relation to crime, immigration, probate, and child protection. She also acted for Germans citizens who had been arrested in Venezuela and supported German prisoners in Venezuela by ensuring fair treatment.
Linda is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales, the Young Fraud Lawyers' Association, and the Chamber Brandenburg in Germany. In addition to English and German, she speaks Italian, Spanish, good conversational French and basic Russian.
