Alexandra Forbes

Alex Forbes specialises in business crime litigation, regulatory investigations and defending prosecutions, particularly those brought by the Serious Fraud Office, HM Revenue & Customs and the Crown Prosecution Service.  She also has some experience of commercial fraud litigation, alternate dispute resolution and mediation.

Alex has dealt with matters involving mutual legal assistance, extradition, trading standards investigations, cash seizures, money laundering offences, health and safety, benefit fraud and tax evasion.

Alex also deals with general criminal litigation including cases involving sexual offences, drugs and offences against the person.

Alex joined BCL Burton Copeland in 2006 after training with Peters & Peters.  She qualified as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales in September 2006.  She attended the University of the West of England where she read for an LLB (Hons) in English Law and European Law with French.  She also attended the University of the West of England to undertake the Legal Practice Course.

Alex is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales, the City of Westminster and Holborn Law Society and the Young Fraud Lawyers’ Association.

She has contributed to articles for Mondaq, one of the most comprehensive electronic resources of professionals’ knowledge and expertise, and for the newsletter Fraud Intelligence.  Alex speaks good conversational French.
